Experience of Adriatic Underwater Academy Participant
Last week marked the beginning of an incredible journey for me as I embarked on an exploration of the underwater world through the EU project “Adriatic Underwater Academy.” As someone who had never before experienced the underwater realm, I could not have imagined how transformative this project would be and how it would open my eyes. It would be an understatement to say that I was excited. The very idea of exploring the depths of the Adriatic Sea, a world so different from what I am accustomed to, was simultaneously thrilling and amazing. The project’s intention to introduce new forms of sports and physical activities, especially for children and people with disabilities, took on a completely new meaning for me.
The concept of diving was entirely foreign to me, and the thought of descending into the sea with nothing but a tank of air was both exciting and somewhat daunting. What touched my heart the most was that the project was inclusive. I learned that diving would be accessible to children and people with disabilities. It was touching to discover that everyone, regardless of physical abilities, would have the opportunity to explore the underwater world. This project aimed to break down barriers, and it was an honor to be a part of it.
The idea of creating a mobile underwater trail, a unique educational tool, was fascinating. I was eager to learn about the biodiversity of our sea, environmental protection, and ecology as I explored the depths of the sea. In short, last week marked the beginning of an adventure that changed my life. The “Adriatic Underwater Academy” project has opened up a world that I had never entered before. It’s more than just diving; it’s about discovery, inclusivity, and creating lasting memories. I can’t wait for the next time to dive into the underwater world, and I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to be part of a project that redefines how we experience the wonders of the sea.
